STK Brings Sexy Back To Thursday Nights
Champagne on a Thursday
It goes without saying that STK {1550 Market Street, Denver; 720.597.8010} is not your father’s steakhouse. It exudes a level of chic sophistication and coolness that in many ways is unique to Denver. The music is loud and the service attentive, and if you’re dogmatic in your belief that steakhouses have to be wood-paneled and smell faintly of cigars then, well quite frankly, it might not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for something that’s fun and is as much an experience as a delicious meal (and STK certainly delivers on the food, more on that), it’s a restaurant that’s perfect for your next date night, dinner meeting or even just to grab a cocktail at their gorgeous bar.
Offered on the first Thursday of every month from 8-11 pm, STK features a prix fixe menu paired with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne. It’s a fun way to sample the menu, capped off with a dessert. The next event is this Thursday, November 2nd—you can book your reservations here. In addition, the steakhouse is also pouring a charity cocktail for the month, The C.U.R.E., an old-fashioned made from Belvedere Single Estate Smogóry Forest Rye vodka (yes a vodka old-fashioned). $1 per cocktail for the month will go back to Project C.U.R.E.
The ambiance at STK is fun and memorable, but that’s not to say that the food is an afterthought. Food aficionados around town are raving about the Waygu Sliders, and they truly exceeded the hype. With a little dab of special sauce served on a sesame seed bun, it’s a perfect bite that may very well be the best burger in the city.
Of course, the real star of the restaurant is the steak. The 10oz Loin Strip sprinkled with a Himalayan rock salt can be made even more decadent with a foie gras topping. Side dishes on the menu are the usual suspects you find at a steakhouse including perfectly cooked Broccolini and a Mac & Cheese that was creamy but not-too-rich.
STK hosts Champagne Thursday’s, the first Thursday of the month. Reserve your spot here.
